Peter Pan Flies In
Some of the Peter Pan cast from the Royal New Zealand Ballet sprinkled fairy dust and laughs through Wellington Children's Wards this morning.
The swashbuckling cast included Sir Jon Trimmer as the ferocious Captain Hook, who was joined by Smee as they waged a gentle war against the do-gooding antics of Tinkerbell and Peter Pan.
Meridian Energy the National Sponsor for the Royal New Zealand Ballet arranged the special visit with the Wellington Hospitals and Health Foundation.
Meridian also donated 30 tickets to the Foundation so children at Wellington Children's Hospital and their parents could attend the Ballet's dress rehearsal for Peter Pan.
It was a fantastic night out. The children sat in amazement at the magical world of Neverland and the parents relished a night out away from the hospital.
Amongst us were 2 sets of parents whose newborns are in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and a family who have been by the teen daughter's side in Hospital for several weeks following a severe car crash.
